Ceramics Classes in Long Beach

If you live in or around Long Beach, there are some great studios where you can take ceramics courses from beginner levels to more advanced. These are the studios I'd recommend taking classes from:

Long Beach City College with Gerardo Monterrubio
Gerardo is an incredible artist whose works have been displayed at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, American Museum of Ceramic Art, Craft Contemporary, and Craft in America to name a few. I'd highly recommend taking a class with him as he has a wealth of knowledge in ceramic arts. Moreover, he has built out the LBCC ceramics studio with a ton of great resources and tools that you'll be able to take advantage of.

Clay on First
Set up like a traditional pottery studio, there are various levels of courses and memberships available including private lessons. Moreover, Clay on First offers free kids classes. Tons of local artists have started at this studio and turned their hobbies into careers.

Long Beach Community Ceramics Studio at Bixby Park
If you are on a budget, the community classes offered at Bixby Park are a great resource for the Long Beach community.
